Peer Review Process
|
Journal Synergia Economia is committed to producing and publishing high-quality research articles in the fields of Islamic economics and business. To maintain excellence, all submitted manuscripts undergo a double-blind peer-review process conducted by expert editors and reviewers. Each evaluation focuses on the manuscript's alignment with the journal's scope and its contribution to Sharia economic and business research. A rigorous review process is essential to enhancing article quality and must remain free from bias and conflicts of interest. Therefore, every submission is handled by an editorial and peer-review team with deep expertise in the relevant field. The review process typically spans 1 to 3 weeks. Below is the detailed review process and policy of Journal Synergia Economia. Peer Review Process Policy 1. Originality: Manuscripts must not have been previously published in conferences, proceedings, or other scientific journals. 2. Scope Alignment: The article must be submitted to Journal Synergia Economia (JSE) and align with the determined objectives and scope. If unsuitable, the author will be recommended to submit the article to another journal. 3. Format Requirements: JSE only accepts manuscripts in Microsoft Word document format (.doc or .docx), not in PDF form. 4. Conflict of Interest: There must be no personal, professional, or financial conflicts of interest between authors, editors, and reviewers. 5. Submission Method: The collection of articles is done via a Call for Papers for every issue of JSE. 6. Confidentiality: Double-blind reviews maintain confidential information about the author and reviewer during the process. This system ensures an unbiased evaluation. 7. Feedback Quality: Comments and input provided by reviewers and editors must be objective, constructive, fair, and not imposed upon the author. Review Process 1. Submission: Authors must submit their manuscripts through the provided Online Submission System. New users are required to register before submitting. 2. Initial Screening: Upon receipt, the Editor-in-Chief (EiC) evaluates the manuscript for alignment with JSE’s purpose and scope. A Section Editor is then appointed to ensure compliance with the style guide and template. Manuscripts that fail to meet these requirements may be rejected at this stage. Qualifying manuscripts are forwarded to at least two independent reviewers. 3. Peer Review: Reviewers are experts in the manuscript’s specific field of study. The standard review period is 7–10 days, though extensions may be granted upon request. Once the evaluation is complete, the reviewer submits their feedback to the editor. 4. Recommendations: Reviewers provide one of the following recommendations: • Accepted without revision • Accepted with minor revisions • Accepted with moderate revisions • Accepted with major revisions • Rejected 5. Reviewer Competency: If a reviewer’s expertise does not match the manuscript’s topic, they may decline the invitation and suggest alternative reviewers with the appropriate capabilities. 6. Editorial Decision: The Section Editor or EiC synthesizes the reviewers' feedback into a consolidated review form, which is then sent to the author. The editor may issue an interim decision, such as: Accept Submission, Revisions Required, Resubmit for Review, or Reject Submission. Reviewers receive an acknowledgment for their contribution. 7. Author Revision: Authors are typically given one week or more to complete revisions, depending on the complexity of the feedback. 8. Resubmission: The revised manuscript is returned to the editor to ensure all reviewer and editor concerns have been addressed. 9. Final Decision: The EiC or Section Editor makes the final decision to accept or reject the manuscript. Additional rounds of revision may be requested if necessary. 10. Copyediting and Layout: Accepted manuscripts undergo copyediting and layouting to match JSE publication standards. If the writing quality is poor, the manuscript will undergo a formal proofreading process. 11. Publication: Published manuscripts are assigned a DOI and released in April, August, or December. Articles may also be featured in special issues based on specific Call for Papers themes. |
